[ There were a lot of things that Hibiki had to adjust to after everything that happened... a lot of it was handled in rehab, but still, some parts of life with one less arm are just... things you have to figure out as you go.
At the very least, she should be grateful that she still has her right arm, right? If she had to lose any arm, at least it's her non-dominant one.
Of course, it would've been nice to keep both arms in general, but oh well. That's not the point right now. The fight with the Nephilim, including the entire Frontier Incident, is a long time ago now. She's already adjusted to life with just one arm... mostly because of the fancy prosthetic that SONG organized for her, so she was effectively able to live normally still... just with the various inconveniences that come with it.
Still, she had Miku with her... and thanks to Miku, things were a lot easier. That being said, for reasons that Miku has refused to tell her... they haven't bathed together in a while. Ever since she ended up like this, she's preferred for the both of them to bathe seperately. Things slowly got better, and they started bathing together again, but even then... Hibiki could tell that she was being intentionally distant.
She didn't want to ask about it, but there's only so much she can take, so... ]
Miku! The bath's ready!
[ She calls out from the bathroom, now just needing to wait for Miku to come in and help her take the prosthetic arm off. Hibiki could do it herself, sure, but... it always hurt a little whenever she disconnected or reconnected her arm. Not horribly, just a little... but it was easier if Miku did it for her. ]
[ ever since hibiki had lost her arm, miku held a sense of guilt. guilt over everything that transpired, the fact that she was powerless to save her, and now all she could do is continue to support her in her endeavors. but even with her guilt, her pain towards letting hibiki get so hurt like that, she powers on. miku knows that hibiki can only do what she does as long as she's by her side, as she says...
but something about it all never sits right with miku.
when called into the bath, she sits by hibiki's side with a small smile. ]
Ready? [ she doesn't need to ask, but still does, if only out of respect. ]
[ She appreciated it... really, she did. The fact that Miku always made sure means a lot to Hibiki, more than she lets on. She nods, smiling softly. ]
Mmhm...
[ She breathes in, nods, and holds her arm out for her. A high-tech prosthetic arm, not exactly a perfect replacement for what she lost, but it's better than most get to have. Hibiki felt like it was too much for her. SONG felt that it was the least they could do. That being said, Hibiki being Hibiki means that there is a bit of wear showing on it as a result of various Hibiki-typical habits... such as climbing (and subsequently falling out of) trees in order to save cats or some other helpful activity.
And that's not even accounting for her work as a Wielder. Seriously, what would she do without Miku to take care of her? It makes her feel bad, especially since...
Well, she's not as clueless as she once was. Not as blind to Miku's fears and hidden tears. She hates that she was blind to that kind of thing in the first place, but she's making up for it... or at least, she hopes that she is. She wants to address it... properly, not just assuring her that ultimately she's fine... and yes, she genuinely does think that she's fine. Not unscathed, but still...
She just... can never find the right words. The Curse of Balal briefly comes up in Hibiki's mind whenever she finds herself at a loss for the right words to express herself, but there's no point in thoughts like that. ]
For Miku
